Equipped with more than 100 LINUX and Microsoft servers, our data centre in Dortmund is the core of Chambers' information technology. More than 8,000 users from all over Germany access every day this central IT basis infrastructure offering WAN, e-mail and security services as well as IT basis components, e.g. the digital signature.
The huge data volume of our business systems contains, amongst others, the data of about 3 million member companies, 840,000 traineeships and 2,000 job profiles. In addition, we evaluate yearly the data of approx. 650,000 examinees for all the 80 Chambers of Commerce, generating also results lists, certificates and statistics. Besides the updated examination data, we store the archived data of about 15 million former traineeships for the carrying out of analysis.
Owing to our strict security management, we comply with the legally-required highest confidentiality regarding the extremely sensitive personal data and business data.
Output Management
Defined data of our central database can be printed locally by the Chambers. Comprehensive mass printing, e.g. more than 3.5 million contribution notifications per annum, is realised by our two high-performance printers.
Our 'mail processing line' enables us to prepare up to 180,000 daily and 12 million yearly print-outs for the Chambers, ready for dispatch. Thereof, the IHK-GfI dispatches 2.5 million postal items amounting to postal charges of almost 1 million euros annually. Thanks to an exclusive agreement with the German Post Service, Chambers can reduce their postal charges up to 26 percent.
